Those people target their families and friends for a quick buck first and then do the most atrocious things to sway the attention from them to their victims. “Remember, they make it their business to learn how to charm everyone before and after their chaos.” Be aware of their silver tongues, or when you question if you were just gaslighted.
Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
