Go back outside and get off the screen that is killing you slowly.
If you are no longer in College and have finally reached your goal in working for an office. Remember, the stress that comes from Corporate America can take a toll on your overall health. This column applies to everyone who has a job, is in charge of maintaining a home, or has a family.
If you have gained some weight, that is totally ok, especially if you are a family person. The best advice, whether you are single or not, is to try to walk 1-6 miles a day or play a sport you enjoyed when you were younger.
If you didn’t like sports because you had a bad gym teacher when you were young, that ruined that experience. Don’t be discouraged, just go outside and start walking, jogging, or running your first mile or what you can manage. “It is optional if you want to include strength training in your cardio later on.”
You can even take out your pet for a walk; it counts towards your 10,000 daily recommended steps for each day.
Try to do this each day or 3-4 times a week. Your goal is to be active and get the heart pumping. Each mile adds up as the year goes by, so you won’t notice when it becomes part of your routine.
TV and sitting are a silent killer, more than smoking, in the 2020s. Go back to the basics and experiment with living like society did in the late 90s-2000s, before Americans became dependent on their smart devices.
Make an event out of it, take your loved ones, or your romantic partner for a walk/jog with headphones. You don’t have to get a gym membership if you don’t want to. “Listen to 9-11 songs in your playlist while being active, so the time can pass by.”
Some men and women dread going to the gym because they feel like they are in a hamster wheel. Go outside with your Banana Boat sunscreen and get the vitamins only the sun and nature can provide. Play basketball, football, volleyball, or swim for a full body workout of 27-45 minutes.
Remember, happy people have more endorphins, which is your main goal after you finish your physical activity. Ask yourself at the end of each walk, jog, or run if you feel happy. That is how you will know. Don’t forget to eat a well-balanced meal, and do not skip meals. Keep eating your protein, vegetables, fruits, potatoes, pasta, nuts, rice, and a few slices of bread like you do each day.
Include healthy sexual activity in your lifestyle, aside from your regular physical activity routine.
Remember to stretch to avoid acid body issues later.
